Problems at Awana
The kids got to go to Awana tonight for the first time since Christmas break. They were all excited to go. Deidra brought the neighbor girl so we had to take 2 cars to get there. I took Josiah and Tracie into their class and Andy brought Deidra and Sierra over to the other building to go to their class. Then, we left Andy's car there while we took Melina in the van to go grocery shopping. While we were at the store, the director called to tell us that Deidra had bumped her nose and they couldn't get it to stop bleeding. We told her that we were just checking out and then we'd be up there. By the time we got up there, they had gotten it stopped. We went to go eat dinner and found Josiah all ready in there. The director came up and told us that Josiah had some discipline problems and was taken out of class for being too hyper and refusing to listen to the teacher and he wouldn't listen to the director either. After 3 times of problem behavior, they have to turn him over to the director and she calls the parents to come get him. Since we were already on the way, she didn't call us with that. I just don't understand why he has such a hard time with following rules. If he doesn't want to do something, he's not going to. I just wish I knew what to do about it. We are consistent with discipline, we get up and make him follow-through with what we're asking him to do and we constantly deal with the fall out from that. And yet, he still refuses to comply. While I'm glad that others are starting to see the same behavior that I have been seeing all these years, it still makes it hard to deal with.
