Blessings

Things are going so much better lately. We are still doing the time-ins, but one thing we started doing in addition to our daily devotion each morning is that I've started to go around to each child and ask them for something that they want to ask God for help with. I pray with and over each child and cover them in prayer and I am finding that with God's graces the days are going a little easier. We still have our trials and hard days, but I find that God is giving us help with them and it's getting us all through easier. All in the glory of God!

The sickies...

Abba, please give our household a clean bill of health. We've been battling one sickness over another since Thanksgiving. Josiah was sick over the weekend with a fever and the runs and saying that his tummy is hurting and a bad cough and runny nose and now Tracie woke up with it this morning. Andy is coughing and saying his chest hurts as well, but he went to work this morning. I just want us all to feel well again.

Novena to St. Joseph

I started a novena today for Andy. Something to help him with his troubles. :-)

Problems at Awana

The kids got to go to Awana tonight for the first time since Christmas break. They were all excited to go. Deidra brought the neighbor girl so we had to take 2 cars to get there. I took Josiah and Tracie into their class and Andy brought Deidra and Sierra over to the other building to go to their class. Then, we left Andy's car there while we took Melina in the van to go grocery shopping. While we were at the store, the director called to tell us that Deidra had bumped her nose and they couldn't get it to stop bleeding. We told her that we were just checking out and then we'd be up there. By the time we got up there, they had gotten it stopped. We went to go eat dinner and found Josiah all ready in there. The director came up and told us that Josiah had some discipline problems and was taken out of class for being too hyper and refusing to listen to the teacher and he wouldn't listen to the director either. After 3 times of problem behavior, they have to turn him over to the director and she calls the parents to come get him. Since we were already on the way, she didn't call us with that. I just don't understand why he has such a hard time with following rules. If he doesn't want to do something, he's not going to. I just wish I knew what to do about it. We are consistent with discipline, we get up and make him follow-through with what we're asking him to do and we constantly deal with the fall out from that. And yet, he still refuses to comply. While I'm glad that others are starting to see the same behavior that I have been seeing all these years, it still makes it hard to deal with.

New Years

I think we're just an old couple. We went to Red Robin for dinner and then we watched Santa Buddies on NYE with the littles and Melina was really fussy. We finally got her down for bed and the littles went to sleep at 8:30. Deidra tried to make it until midnight. I told Andy around 9 that I was going to take a catnap on the couch. The next thing I know is that I woke up at 1:30 am and Andy was already upstairs in bed and Deidra was sleeping in the recliner. I went to go upstairs and Melina woke up at 2 am to eat. Then, I couldn't get back to sleep. I finally decided to head to bed around 4:30 to see if I could get some more sleep before the littles woke up. And New Years was just a lazy day around the house.
