My Leap of Faith...

I've had a vision of a retail shop for a couple of years now. I would love to have a consignment shop for kids clothes and toys and some stuff for the Moms to pamper themselves with. Anyway, I've had a vision in my head for quite some time. I really just feel God talking with me about it. Today, after listening to one of my Bible study audios I decided to step out of my comfort zone and just go for it. I went ahead and opened a shop on Facebook and invited all my Mommy friends to like my page. We're always finding stuff to resell each week and God knows that there's no shortage of clothes around here with my crew as well. So, I'm going to give this a go and see what happens. Today, I started listing clothing. I have a goal of 10 items a day. Totally giving this to God....please pour favor upon my little store. Thank you!

Oh...and if you want to join me...you can find me at Five Little Ducks Resale Shop on Facebook. :-)

A Leap of Faith...

I went and rented a booth in Country Corner Treasures in Ferris today to set up our stuff for resale. I'm going to try it out and see how we do. We have our own little room. I'm pretty excited, but it's scary too. My Mom and my Mother-in-Law have some stuff in there as well. I don't mind them selling stuff in there. We'll see how it goes. Abba, I ask that you will give our booth favor in there and that we will do well. Thank you for your blessings!

My business vision...

We have been selling on ebay for almost as long as we've been married. We'll be married for 13 years this year. We both enjoy it a lot. However, we really enjoy the thrift store hunts of finding things to resell as well as our garage sale finds. We got watching Storage Wars and American Pickers as well and our imaginations are going crazy. We were having our first garage sale ever last year and the wheels started to turn in my head. I'd love to have a resale store. Andy and I talked a little bit and could see ourselves doing that. The only thing is that we don't want to incur debt...it's all cash to pay for everything. My father-in-law built me clothing racks when he was down as we wanted to try to have garage sales more often. We just had a spur of the moment garage sale on the 4th of July as we wanted to try to get rid of some stuff to make room for my Mother-in-Law's stuff when she moves here in the next little bit. We had those clothing racks FULL of clothes and that was only about half the clothes that we had to sell. My Grandma used to love to buy stuff and wash it up and clean it and resell it. They would pair together with her sisters and have HUGE garage sales 3-4 times a year. When I'm out sometimes, I talk to her and doing this makes me feel closer to her too. But, my wheels are turning a little more as we talk about starting our next little branch of our business. I'd love to have a place that my whole family could work and have my kids close to me as we go about our work. We were watching The Cupcake Girls last night (never watched the show before last night) and I love that their whole family works together. I have a vision...I'm not ready to share it all quite yet...but I ran it by Andy today and he's on board with my idea. So, we'll get ready to grow out our next branch and see where this takes us. I'm excited. We're talking about starting it in August. God, use me and my family to fill Your Holy Will please. You know my heart and I am a giver. I have this vision and I want to do Your Work. Please use me and my family and help us to fulfill this dream together.

New Years Goals...

Well, I think this is the year to lose this weight I want to get off. I'd like to digiscrap at least one layout a day. I'd like to read 1-2 books a month. I'd like to spend some time with God for at least 15 minutes a day. I'd like to make a few local friends down here to spend some time with. I'd also like to continue doing well in ebay and paying off our debts to become debt-free. I'd also like to stay current with fly lady and keeping my house clutter free.

Excited!

We're getting Deidra in to the dentist today for a cleaning and to see what's going on with her tooth. Baby D and Little J also have speech today so Andy is working a half day so that he can be here for the kid's speech appt while I take Deidra to the dentist. After all that, we're going to register my candle business and get my resale license. I am so excited! :-)
