New Years Goals...

Well, I think this is the year to lose this weight I want to get off. I'd like to digiscrap at least one layout a day. I'd like to read 1-2 books a month. I'd like to spend some time with God for at least 15 minutes a day. I'd like to make a few local friends down here to spend some time with. I'd also like to continue doing well in ebay and paying off our debts to become debt-free. I'd also like to stay current with fly lady and keeping my house clutter free.

Business is hopping!

Wow, my candles are doing awesome on ebay. I should have ordered more Christmas and seasonal candles than what I did. The seasonal ones that I have left for Christmas is Frosty's Happy Hour and Pumpkin Frappuccino. All my Elf Farts and Reindeer Droppings are gone. I guess I'll know to order way more than I did for next year. I have a huge order coming after the first of the year as well and I cannot wait to get them.

We sold $1000 for the first month on ebay and we're desperately trying to do it again this month. We really got serious about wanting to make ebay a real side business after selling here and there since we got married. I can't get things listed fast enough! Of course, listing has taken a back seat over the past few days as I've been trying to get other things done too.

That's one thing that I am thankful for though...my little side business is doing very well!

What a busy week!

This has been such a crazy week so far...not one spare day!

Monday, Baby J had his first speech appt. Then, Baby D had speech and then I had to go get the girls from school and then Little J had her speech appt.

Tuesday, we had our foster parents association meeting.

Today (Wednesday), we called Baby J's mom, Baby D had speech and then once I got the girls from school Little J had speech and then the kids have kid church and crafts tonight while Andy and I get an hour and a half to ourselves to run errands. I was thrilled though to find that the therapist is seeing the same things in Little J that we are. They're wondering if she didn't have any trauma to her head a long time ago or if she's got some other psychological issues going on. I'm going to bring it up at her appt tomorrow. I'm going to see if we can't get her a cat scan or something too. But, something definitely is not right with this girl. Her short term memory is awful and where she should be soaking up this stuff that is being given to her, she can't remember anything. The kids are even making fun of her at school over it. And the therapist brought out her supervisor today to bring it to his attention as well. They're going to have her evaluated for OT as well.

Tomorrow (Thursday), Little J has an appt with the psychiatrist and then she has play therapy and then I'm babysitting for a friend.

Friday, Baby J has physical therapy and Baby D and Little J have their visit and then their sister is coming into town to spend the weekend at our house to have their sibling visit.

Saturday, Baby D and Little J and their sister have a sibling visit with the parents.

Sunday is church and I'm not sure what else is going on that day. All I know is I have major housework to get done as well as getting my business inventory accounted for. I've made Andy my accountant. :-)

Woo Hoo and a Rent Question

We sold a bunch of stuff on ebay this month and we sold about $575 worth of stuff. Of course, we still gotta take all of our fees out before we can see our net profit, but that will definitely come in handy this time of year.

Also, does anyone know how long a landlord has to give you a security deposit back? We moved out of our rental house on October 13 fully. We paid October's rent in full. We cleaned the place from top to bottom and it looked better than when we moved in there. We let them know our new addressand when we moved. They have still yet to give us our deposit back. We called them a couple of weeks ago and she said they'd been out of town for 2 weeks and they'd stop by to give us the check. They are an elderly couple and the guy is almost deaf, so I refuse to call them and have been leaving it to Andy. I told him today to call them and ask if we could stop by their house and pick up the check today as we need to get that money back...it's making me nervous. If it wasn't almost $900 I wouldn't worry so much, but I would have thought that they would have given us our money back by now.

Abba, please help us to get our security deposit back by the end of today or asap. It really is making me nervous about it.

New business venture?

Well, we're going to register a business and get a sales tax license. I have fallen in love with the candles that we did for Deidra's Pee Wee Cheerleading fundraiser and in further talking with the lady about them and prices and all the scents, I am going to go foward with it. My gourmet foods sell themselves and I easily make quota now with just internet sales...I am talking about maybe doing a few craft sales and I think the candles will sell themselves as well. They smell great and are very cute and the people that bought them through the fundraiser have raved about them too...so I think they'd go hand in hand at a craft fair and my Mom has agreed to do them with me. I told Andy that I only see myself staying at the Depot until the end of the year and doing the craft fairs will give me a break from everything too and I think they'd be fun to do. I'm going to start out with a handful of scents and include 4 fun Christmas ones and take it from there.

Missing Package...

I mailed out a lot of 84 vintage romance novels on May 2nd through the post office to VA. Delivery confirmation shows that they arrived in MD on the 7th and that's all we know. Please let this package arrive at it's destination in VA soon. The guy is upset and filed a claim with paypal and I've done everything that I can think of on my end to find it. The post office is telling me multiple different things (it depends on who you talk to.) They keep telling me that media mail is given lowest priority and can take awhile and that it isn't lost yet. I already knew that about media mail...I just want to find out what is going on as it should have moved by now, although I'm wondering if they just haven't scanned it or something as I know they don't have to scan those labels either. I was going to refund him as he said he would repay me if it showed up, but then I found out that he escalated it to a claim and paypal has taken the money from my account...so I told the guy that I wasn't going to refund him on top of this as then I'd be out double the money. I don't blame him for being upset...his post office is telling him one thing...mine is telling him another...he's had bad experiences with the post office before...I haven't had a lost package in forever...I just hope and pray that it will be delivered to him soon so that I can be done messing around with this.
